SEMS Leadership 2012 with U Theory – Part 1

As annual event for all SEMS Lab assistants, we started a leadership programs that aims to instill leadership traits in our lab assistants. The event is parallel with national youth day in Indonesia, at October 28. Based on U-Theory approach, Mrs. Ernie Widianty, as the lead facilitators, will take the assistants through the U Journey. The session started at the SEMS lab with the introduction of the concept.
The last year alumni of the leadership program Stefan, Laisha and Dhanita, who just recently graduated, also helps to facilitate their juniors.
SEMS Lab New Academic-Year Gathering 2012

To start the new academic year of 2012/2013, we invite new graduates, current lab assistants and researchers SEMS Lab for lab gathering and discuss lab preparation with the new curriculum this year. The new curriculum relies more lab activities that require scheduling of resources in the lab. However, after the long holiday it is also a place when we all could get together and catch-up of the news.
Prof Martin Kunc Seminar & Discussion on SD

Professor Martin Kunc from Warwick Business School, The University of Warwick, UK, has spare his time to visit SEMS lab during his time in Indonesia. The visit purpose is sharing knowledge and research opportunities regarding the use of System Dynamics (SD) in Strategy, and open up future collaborations with SD practitioners in Indonesia.
The session starts with a discussion on one of his paper regarding the implementation of system dynamics model on tackling human resource issues in a professional service firms (Kunc, M. Achieving a balanced organizational structure in professional services firms: some lessons from a modeling project. Systems Dynamics Review 24, 2008). The discussion is the followed by a short presentation on possible research directions on System Dynamics based on resource based strategic view.
SEMS Welcoming Internship from ISTIA France

In the next 3 Months, SEMS lab will host 2 undergraduate students form a total of 3 from the ISTIA (Institut des Sciences et Techniques de l’Université d’Angers). Thomas Richard and Timothée Wadoux, from the Industrial System Engineering School, will be joining our research team. They will be focusing on developing an Agent Based Simulation Model. Of coursem they must also learning about Indonesia’s rich and diverse culture. We welcome them to Indonesia and SEMS Lab.
SEMS Lab Gathering 2012

In same day after SEMS Lab held financial modeling workshop, on 31st March 2012, after we had 6 hours of expanding the insights about Financial Modeling, SEMS family then had dinner for gathering with all assistants, alumni, and the head of laboratory at Sate Khas Senayan Pakubuwono.
It started at about 7 PM. Not only dinner, we had our gathering time for sharing, like the alumni’s current work, campus life, lab condition, etc. More than 20 people attended this gathering.
