SEMS Financial Modeling Workshop

SEMS Lab conducted one-day workshop on Financial Modeling by inviting one of our alumni, Iko Putera, as the instructor and facilitator for the workshop. While he was students, Iko final projects was developed “the financial game”, a management flight simulator for assisting the process of learning of simple balance sheets and financial performance. The game simulated the condition of a small company, developed using system dynamics software and linked to spreadsheets software.

Now, he has accumulated diverse experiences on developing and delivering financial models for various projects and clients, as a consultant for various consulting organizations, so we were very happy that Iko is willing to share his knowledge and experiences with us.

SEMS LA Sensing Journey 2011

As a part of activity for SEMS Lab assistant (LA), Sensing Journey is the necessary one. Sensing Journey was held to increase interpersonal skill and Emotional Intelligence for SEMS Lab assistant to be a good communicator and feel sensitive with their surroundings.
Sensing Journey 2011 was held on Tuesday, August 16th 2011 after new students visiting program. This time, SEMS Lab assistant had a journey to ‘Museum Perumusan Naskah Proklamasi’ and watched ‘Napak Tilas Proklamasi.’ The topic is about how to reach spirit of our proclamator and independence fighter to trigger a creation for industrial engineer for fulfilling Indonesia’s Independence.
New IEUI Students of 2011 Visit
Welcoming the best Industrial Engineering students in Indonesia to our laboratory!
As part of the orientation program for campus life introduction, new students (batch 2011) of Industrial Engineering visited our lab. First on Monday, August 16th 2011 for Regular and on Friday, 19th August 2011 for Parallel Students. They were received by Mr. Akhmad Hidayatno as our head of lab and Mr. Gersianto as the graduates from our lab after their reception by Prof. Yuri as the head of department and lecturer about orientation of industrial engineering department.
IEUI New Students of 2011 Visited SEMS Lab
The 10-minutes visit was started by explanation and introduction about what Industrial Engineering is and SEMS lab, what kind of activities in lab, demo’s of students work and kind of softwares available in the lab to learn. They also introduced to several essential games of simulation, like Crate Beer Game to learn about system thinking by SEMS lab assistants.
Professor Katayama and Professor Pekka Visit to SEMS

On Friday, july 8th, SEMS Lab had a brief visit from Professor Katayama of Waseda University (Japan). Before giving a public lecture on Operation Management and Kaizen at Multimedia Room of Industrial Engineering Department, Prof Yuri (IE UI head of department) took him on a tour of IE UI laboratory.
Prof Katayama is a Professor in Operation Management and Production System.
Meanwhile, on july 12, another international guest had a visit to our lab. Being accompanied by Bu Ana (IE UI Department Secretary), Professor Pekka from VTT Finland took a brief visit to our lab and share many experience regarding his research interest in urban transportation system, which coincides with our current research focus.
