President’s Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP-PPP) in collaboration with the School of Business and Management ITB (SBM ITB) has conducted “The 2nd International Workshop on Systems Modelling: System Analysis and Modelling for Green Economy”. The main keynote speaker is Professor Dr. Pavel Kabat, the Director & CEO of International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Austria. IIASA is an international research organization that conducts policy-oriented research into problems that are too large or too complex to be solved by a single country or academic discipline.
As an invited presenter, Pak Akhmad presented his on going research “Modeling the impacts of Indonesia’s REDD+ Initiatives to the Biodiesel Targets in the Green Economy Framework using System Dynamics”.
SEMS Lab Software Upgrading
Posted by systems in Continuous Event Modeling, News, Technical Area on 09/03/2012
Today we started to upgrade some of our lab software by installing Powersim Studio 9 to replace our Studio 2005.
We also add a collection of new modeling tools such as Anylogic University Version a multi approach modeling software based on Java, Decision Tools Suites for enhancing our Financial Modeling capabilities and SIMA Pro a Life Cycle Analysis software to support sustainability analysis in our lab.
We hope to expand the field of our research with this new tools.
SEMS Lab Beer Game Series 2011
Another year, another class of systems thinking, in which as usual we are conducting the beer game simulation.

Industrial Engineering Department, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa State University (UNTIRTA) from Banten Province is conducting Systems Thinking Refreshment Course as part of their Lecturer Development Program at our lab. As you might already aware, UNTIRTA has recently changed is status from private university to state university for new Banten Province at west side of Java. Previously, it was managed by prominent state steel industry: Krakatau Steel.
The refreshment course mostly discuss about teaching systems thinking for industrial engineering students, the current state of systems thinking and system dynamics applications and research, and a hands on session regarding the use of software to teach systems thinking. The one day course attracted more than 15 lecturers from the IE program.
SD Workshop 2010

System Dynamics Modeling Workshop is the first of (hopefully) many workshops conducted by Systems Engineering, Modeling, and Simulation (SEMS) Laboratory. The workshop centered on the modeling of System Dynamics as a tool to create a representation of many complex matters in the real world. Throughout the workshop, the participants learned the concept of System Thinking, Stock and Flow Diagram, Conceptualization with Causal Loop Diagram, and System Dynamics modeling with PowerSim. The workshop lasted for 3 days from Moncay, August 2nd to Wednesday, August 4th. The workshop consist of 20 participants from 2007, 2008, and 2009 students of TI UI. Mr. Akhmad Hidayatno, Mr. Armand Omar, and Aziiz Sutrisno are the instructors of this interactive workshop.
