A special chapter also discuss about how to teach system thinking based on the author experience in facilitating “Systems Thinking” mandatory course in Industrial Engineering Master Program. When asked to explains about the book, Pak Akhmad explains:

“In this Indonesian Language books, I introduce a new definition of Systems Thinking that is based on the combination of DeBono Thinking Concepts to Properties of System. A new unique nickname of “De BATIk” served as a memory jogger for the properties of system: multi-dimentions, boundaries, goals, holistic (emergent properties) and interconnections. As you probably know, Batik is a traditional design pattern of clothes in Indonesia, recognized by UNESCO. System thinking means asking groups of questions using De BATIk to improve our understanding of system.

Based on these two combination, I also proposed a 5 steps of problem solving using system thinking.”
